Polo Wicklow
Ireland’s only all weather, all year round polo facility. Established in 1993, Polo Wicklow offers lessons, horse rental or lease, polo ponies for sale and membership. On site polo shop with everything you need for you and your polo ponies. Lessons are taught by Ireland’s leading lady player Siobhan Herbst. International matches are held monthly during the winter with teams from U.S.A, France, Spain, Germany, Holland and Scotland.
Whether you want to come and watch polo in our luxurious clubhouse or get out there and give it a go – Polo Wicklow is the place to come to.
Clara Lara Fun Park
Here in spectacular surroundings of oak trees and water are assault courses, water slides, boating lakes, kiddie-karts, tree houses and woodland playgrounds. Have a go on the breathtaking Aqua Shuttle, the biggest water slide in Ireland. Children can sailaway to wherever they fancy on the Pirate Galleon.
For the less energetic there are riverside picnic areas and barbecues, mini golf and miles of hill walking through the spectacular countryside. There is also a junior playground.
Blessington Sailing School
We provide water based Sail Training under the Irish Sailing Association. Syllabus Levels 1 To 4 for juniors and Adults in dinghies and catamarans.
We also provide Powerboat and safety boat Training.
Our shore based training include First Aid, Navigation, Boat Maintenance, and Health and Safety.
The School also has a Workshop repair and maintenance facility for boats & engines.
The Blessington Lakes are a major attraction for water based sport and leisure pursuits. Our training activities provide a safe and properly managed outlet for this growing demand from the expanding population of the Blessington area and beyond. Our presence is a major factor in satisfying this growing demand and keeping these activities safe and pleasurable.
The School is continually creating & developing local awareness of the educational, sporting, social and employment facilities of the lakes.It is our aim to ultimately become a center of excellence for sail training & power boating in the county. The School also promotes the employment of local youth and students as instructors and trainees.
