Annaharvey Farm Equestrian Centre
For the past 100 years, the Deverell Family have lived at Annaharvey. Traditionally a beef and tillage farm, horses have also always played an important role, from the breeding of thoroughbreds, to the production of show jumpers.

A warm welcome is offered to all, to both equestrian and non-equestrian alike. Guest’s stays in the tastefully restored grain barn, all rooms are en-suite. Warm fires and good food awaits you on your return from a long day in the saddle.

Our qualified instructors will help you improve your riding technique, be it show jumping or dressage, in the indoor or outdoor arena, or attempting our challenging cross-country course around the 330 acre farm – or just take a gentle stroll around the fields for the less adventurous.

Birr Equestrian Centre
Birr Equestrian Centre is situated on 140 acres of farmland which provides a perfect arena fo rtrekking. The Equestrian Centre als runs treks on the nearby Slieve Bloom Mountains. These treks cater for both novice and experienced riders. Tuition is also available for both children and sdults all year round. A variety of programmes are available including pony camps or ‘own your own pony’ which are run weekly during the school breaks.

The centre caters for adult and children lessons, Pony camps, hourly treks on our 160acre farm and also, treks are available, exploring the magnificent Slieve Bloom Mountains, and there are several different options for intermediate and experienced riders.

Experienced instructors lead riders through the rolling pastures and pristine forest trails of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. Join in for a half day or days trekking through the breath talking views of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, where Birr Equestrian centre has the unique advantage of holding a permit to trek on the Slieve Blooms.

Cochise Stud & Saddlery
Cochise Stud is a stud with a difference, not only with the breed and training concept in Ireland. Located in the midlands of Ireland close to the River Shannon and historical site of Clonmacnoise and Birr Castle. Cochise Stud is the first exclusively Western Riding operation to be certified in Ireland by Fáilte Ireland to cater for our North American guests visiting Ireland. We have Quarter Horses, Appaloosa’s, Paint Horses and Paso Fino for those who love the horse with the fine step.

Our training concept and riding style is all Western inspired. For the medium to advanced rider we can cater for short and day treks. For the beginner you can learn from our experienced trainer with a proven track record in competition in Europe. With clinic presentations, working with horses from the ground to the back. If you’re just in the area and want to drop in to say hello or see our stallions and mares at work; there’s a welcome on the mat. Feel free to just visit and enjoy a coffee with our compliments. We are a small operation which will insure our personal attention to your needs.
