Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre
Petersburg is an old landlord estate, situated on the southern shore of Lough Mask. Petersburg offers a range of activities, including windsurfing, sailing, orienteering, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, caving, hillwalking, obstacle course and gorge walking. Petersburg is ideally located for field studies and is used as a base by many geology groups.

Pallas Karting
Pallas Karting is an outdoor activity adventure centre, based in Galway.

Pallas Karting offer facilities that are simply the best. Arrive and drive sessions and Grand Prix 1500 metre tarmac track, 11 metres wide and R.I.A.C approved. Also, 13h.p single engine karts (ungoverned) 70 m.p.h and a 500 metre beginners and family track.

Activities include go karting, family fun, stag and hens things to do, corporate/company days out and events, birthday parties, rally car and go kart testing.

Located 40 minutes from Galway City

Watermark Ski Club
WaterMark is the place to go for lots of various types of water activities, i.e. wakeboard, water ski, wake skate, wake surf, barefoot, trick ski, bodyboard and zapcat.

Excellent instructors are available with the very best equipment.

Workshops are available – minimum of 4 persons, with intense training and troubleshooting in wakeboard, waterskiing or any of the other disciplines on offer.

Rusheen Bay Windsurfing Centre
Rusheen Bay Windsurfing is the premier windsurfing school in the West of Ireland. Located just 5 minutes from Galway City on the coast road, the Centre is based in an enclosed bay, perfect for beginners, with calm waters and prevailing cross-onshore winds.

Bees Nees Yacht Centre
Sailing in Galway Bay is spectacular. You can get a unique view of the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Isles and the Twelve Bens mountain range of Connemara from the sea.

Catch a few fish, and we will cook them for you while you browse around Inishmore – what a way to spend your day!

We offer day, half day and evening trips. Catering for 10 peoploe allows us offer a unique personal service. Sailing instruction can be given in both Irish and English.

The Galway Dive School
The Galway Dive School holds scuba diving courses through the P.A.D.I. (Professional Association of Diving Instructors). They also bring qualified divers out for dives.

They sell diving equipment, and they provide back-up service for diving equipment. They also teach the I.A.H.D. diving system (International Association of Handicapped Divers). They can teach people with various disabilities to scuba dive, and they also bring already-qualified disabled divers out for local dives.

West Galway School of Navigation
West Galway School of Navigation is an all year round sailing and navigation school, but, during the summer months, we offer speed boat rides with a chance of seeing seals, dolphins and other wildlife in Mollymawk, a Department of the Marine approved passenger vessel (5 passengers).

We are based in Ballyconneely, but run in various venues. Telephone in advance for details of where and when the rides are running. Sail training and shore based training also available.

Galway Bay Sailing Club
Galway Bay Sailing Club is renowned for the warm welcome it extends to its members and visitors alike. It organises and facilitates the racing and sailing of dinghies, cruisers and multihulls for adults and junior members. The club also offers training and instruction to adults, juniors and non-members.

The clubhouse with bar and catering facilities opens on Sunday afternoons and also Tuesday and Wednesday nights from April to September to facilitate the various racing fleets. During the remaining months, it opens on Sundays for dinghy racing and on Wednesday nights for talks and social events. The club has played host to many successful Regional and National Regattas with racing taking place against the backdrop of beautiful Galway Bay.

Scubadive West
Scubadive West, is a leading PADI dive centre, located on the water’s edge in Connemara. Experience underwater adventure for the first time and take part in a discover scuba diving experience, conducted under the watchful eye of an experienced diving instructor. Those already qualified as divers can take part in a variety of activities. These include boat diving trips to the offshore islands, a range of PADI diving courses, or a gentle swim around a stunning kelp reef located at the centre’s doorstep. A sheltered, private training cove makes Scubadive West perfect for beginners. Facilities include three bespoke dive boats, hot showers, canteen, classrooms, full equipment rental and air fills up to 300 bar. Scubadive West is a PADI five star resort and also holds the coveted National Geographic Dive Centre rating. Dives depart daily.

Bow Waves – Galway Sailing and Powerboat School
Bow Waves – Galway Sailing and Powerboat School. Established in 1996, Bow Waves offer a range of water sports training, days out, week and weekend excursions for groups and individuals from ages 8 to 80 plus. With experienced staff, under the supervision of school founder and principal, Finbarr O’Regan, Bow Waves will guarantee you a safe and memorable time with us.

Bow Waves operates in Galway Bay and, with its unspoiled scenery and natural beauty, it is a natural sailing area wehre mariners have sailed for centuries. If you want to have a relaxing sail on our 37′ luxury yacht ‘Suil Eile’, or an adrenaline filled ride in one of our powerboats, Bow Waves has it all. Our excursions will take you sailing all around the bay, be it for a pint in Doolin, a barbeque on Hare Island, sunbathing in Salthill or taking in the sights and sounds of the Aran Islands. We pride ourselves in flexible and highly personalised service.

Bow Waves also operates out of Lough Atalia, Galway City, for beginners and people who are not the most confident to out out on the water. The lough, which is fully surrounded by land, is a sheltered light wind shallow water area where it makes a beginners day fun and calmer.

Corrib canoe courses are back for summer 2011 – canoeing courses will run from 4th July to 6th August.

Corrib Canoe Courses is a fun and exciting way to learn kayaking in Galway. Open to all children, teenagers and adults, they provide an ideal way to spend the morning, afternoon or evening for a week.

Pure Skill – Fusion of Sport
Pure Skill – Fusion of Sport – spans over 25,000 square feet with this huge arena divided into two main sections, the Pure Skill Circuit and the Pure Skill Interactive Sports room, on Astroturf surfaces.

Choose from a selection of ten sports, including Gaelic football, soccer, hurling, rugby, tennis, cricket, baseball, basketball, golf putting and golf chipping – in the Pure Skill Circuits area.

Interactive Skills include baseball batting, cricket bowling, basketball penalties, 20-metre Gaelic free kick, 20-metre rugby conversion,, golf putting, golf pitching, tennis return of serve, hurling shots to targets and soccer penalties. Competitors complete the circuit of all 10 sports with a scorecard marked out of a possible 100 points.

Each visitor receives a personalised scorecard to record scores and aim to improve their skills on the next visit.

Ball collection and distribution is automated and activated via a swipe card. Adding to the ambience of the floodlit facility, which can cater for 80 competitors simeltaneously, is surround sound music.

Group bookings are essential for this weather-independent and non-contact activity.

Open to competitors, aged 10 and above and an ideal outing for families, schools, special needs, corporate groups, sports and social clubs; special occasions and much more.

Comfortable clothing and footwear, i.e tracksuits, jeans and runners, is recommended. No spikes or heels.

Islands West Diving Centres are located on the Islands of Inishbofin, Co Galway, and Clare Island, Co Mayo. We run various courses

We run courses on discover scuba diving, open water diving, advanced open water diving, medic first aid, rescue diving, speciality courses, V/W naturalist boating diving, multilevel diving, dry suit diving, navigation diving, night diving, search and recovery diving, and deep river.

We cater for sea angling, Island hopping trips and general boat charter.

We also run trips to Inishturk Island, located right in the middle of Clare Island and Inishbofin. Inishturk is ideal for walking, diving and fishing.
