This magnificent development is situated along the Erne at Belturbet. An abundant stock of pike, bream and roach is available in the Erne, Woodford and Finn rivers and lakes. Its a real anglers paradise. Maggots, baits, tackle and drying facilities are all available on the premises. Boats and engines available for hire at all times. We can also arrange your transport from Dublin airport and back, or to the different lakes, at your request. Restaurant and tennis on site.
Coarse Angling
Belturbet is lcoated in County Cavan and is built of the banks of the river Erne and is ideally located between the major lake system of lough Oughter and Lough Gowna in the south and Upper Lough Erne in the north. This explains its attraction as an idealbase for exploring these great waters where Bream, Roach, Hybrids, Pike and Perch are abundent. When Angling along the Erne take particular note of the Creamery Stretch which produces good catches of Roche.The Putiaghan Lake whic is located 1.5 miles from Belturbet has a big head of Roach and Perch as well as good Tench. Killylea Lake further to the north is connected to the river Erne and has a fine stock of Roach.
Angling Belturbet
Belturbet Trout Anglers’ Club have carried out extensive improvements to the river in a three-quarter mile stretch upstream from Kilconny Bridge. The fishing is for wild and stocked trout. It is fly fishing only. There are reported to be other good stretches for trout fishing upstream and Cornadara, Pogue’s Ford and Baker’s Bridge.
