Ballyvara House boasts a large sitting room with open fire and hand made stone bar area (created with stone from the original 100 year old cottage that originally stood on this site), extensive lobby area with gas fire, a games room with pool table and a well stocked library, whilst outside there is a tennis court and a children’s play ground plus a small pond to the front of the house.
There is now wireless internet access throughout. The commercial kitchen has 2 ovens with 4–ring gas stovetop over each, a salamander grill, 2 deep fat fryers (built in), a large water boiler, bains marie, commercial microwave and toaster and large pour–over coffee maker, a multitude of refridgerators and a deep chest freezer.
The bright and airy dining room is just off the kitchen, equipped with a small, custom built buffet area and 8 tables which can be re–arranged to suit any group requirements. There are currently enough chairs/settings for 24, though more can be added. New elegant furniture has just been added in the large conservatory off the kitchen, which is now a private dining room seating 8.
Directions
Ballyvara House is wonderfully located on 20+ acres of green Irish countrysidein County Clare with views of rolling fields and Doonagore Castle in the distance. Doolin village is only a half mile walk down the road and Doolin pier is 2 miles away where one can catch a ferry to the Aran Islands or a cruise to the view the majestic Cliffs of Moher.
The white sand beaches of Lahinch and Fanore are within a 20 min. drive, as well as the famed Lahinch Golf Course. There is so much space within Ballyvara House that several families could stay and never feel crowded. Get the bar stocked and enjoy a drink in the lounge in front of a roaring fire or a welcoming glass of wine out on the patio in the courtyard garden.
Children will always be entertained with the pool table, tennis and playground, as well as feeding our 2 donkeys and Shetland pony that roam the fields around the property.

The cottage sleeps 8 in four double ensuite rooms. There are 2 living rooms, a seperate dinning room and a large personally designed kitchen complete with electric range for cooking and year round warmth. Set in its own gardens with outside dinning area it adjoins an alpaca farm.
The local area has a wealth of things to see and do. The Burren is a ‘Karst’ landscape, of exposed limestone with fissures, caverns and sinkholes caused by erosion. In addition to the distinctive landscape, the Burren has Ring Forts, Neolithic Tombs, caves and is famous for its flora combing plants from the Arctic, Alps and Mediterranean areas. Locally there are the famous Cliffs of Moher (the largest cliffs in Europe), Aillwee and Doolin Caves home of the worlds largest Stalactite.
The Aran Islands can be seen from the cottage and boat tours go out several times a day during the summer from Doolin. The stunning ancient town of Galway is just an hour away, and the locality has a wealth of shopping and eating areas to explore.

The house itself is situated close to the idyllic Roaring Water Bay. Kilcoe Castle, the home of actor Jeremy Irons is can be seen from the house and is located on the mainland. There are numerous peaceful walks around the house and as there is hardly any traffic it is very child friendly. The area is famous for its fishing. During August why not take the ferry to Baltimore for the infamous ‘Pizza and Pint’ evenings also during August there is the Island Regatta.
The beautiful, golden sandy beach of Reen is only a 5 minute stroll from the house.

Directions
When approaching Cork city from Dublin, head through the tunnel and follow the ring road west. At the second roundabout (you will see Dunnes Stores on your left as you approach it) head in the direction of Ballincollig/Macroom on th Ballincollig bypass.
After approx 23km turn left at signpost for Bantry, Crookstown, Dunmanway and Bandon. You will shortly enter a village called Crookstown. At the centre of Crookstown turn left (at the phone box). Follow this road for approx 19km through Beal na Blath and the village of Coppeen. The road is well signposted. Approximately 7 km after Coppeen you will be turning right.
Follow this road for 25 km to Kealkill and at Kealkill bear left. Follow the road to Ballylickey and turn right at the junction onto the main Glengarriff/Castletownbere road. In Glengarriff turn left at the top of the town and follow the road to Castletownbere (approx 30 km).
At St. Fachtnas Church in Adrigole you are 12km from the house. About 10km from Adrigole you will enter an area called Rossmackeown. You will see a church on the right. A few houses after the church there is a derelict house on the left. Just around the corner from this you will see the house. Entrance is off the main road and in towards the back of the house.
